1. 35y/o asthmatic lady presents
to A&E with shortness of breath, temperature and purulent sputum. Chest
X-ray shows transient perihilar infiltrates.
2. 57y/o Asian man presents to
A&E following one episode of haemoptysis. He last visited his brother in
India 3 years ago, no recent travel. Chest X-ray shows a dense apical opacity
with a surrounding halo.
3. A 44y/o HIV positive man
presents to his GP with a headache that has been constant for the last three
weeks. On examination he has papilloedema. A lumbar
puncture is Indian Ink stain positive.
4. A 39y/o HIV positive lady is
referred to A&E by her GP. She is pyrexial with a
headache and 5 day history of rhinosinusitis. Head CT shows loss of normal bony
sinus margins.
5. A 27y/o HIV positive man
presents with dysphagia and retrosternal pain. On
examination he also has macerated lesions in his axillae
and on his scalp.
